José Mourinho’s return to Real Madrid seemed all but confirmed. Just days before the club’s presidential election, Florentino Pérez published a video on his campaign’s X account showing the Portuguese coach in Real Madrid colors, accompanied by a cryptic message: “While on television, they talk, talk and talk… Yes!” The problem is that the image of Mourinho apparently did not sit well with José Mourinho himself.
Real Madrid has found itself at the center of a major controversy involving Mourinho. For many Madrid supporters, the post looked like confirmation that the “Special One” would return to the Santiago Bernabéu dugout. Having previously managed the club between 2010 and 2013, Mourinho had been heavily linked with the role of future Real Madrid coach.
AI Video Sparks Mourinho Controversy
However, the story quickly took an unexpected turn. According to Portuguese newspaper Record, Mourinho urgently contacted Benfica’s management, where he is currently under contract, to deny any involvement in the video.

The Portuguese coach reportedly explained that the footage had been generated using artificial intelligence. He insists that he never recorded the sequence in which he appears wearing a Real Madrid shirt and simply answering “Yes.”

This clarification has completely reignited the debate and sparked intense controversy in Spain. Did Florentino Pérez use an AI-generated video to win over voters? With the election just days away, the discussion is already heating up across Madrid.
