The striker’s father stated that no agreement exists and described the announcement as simple “entertainment.” At the same time, another controversy erupted around Florentino Pérez. The outgoing president shared a video showing José Mourinho in Real Madrid colors, but according to several Portuguese media outlets, the coach reportedly told his employers that he had never recorded the sequence, which may have been generated using artificial intelligence.
City responded on Thursday by saying: “The stories which have emerged from Spain regarding the future of Erling Haaland are untrue. There is no chance of this happening and there is no contractual clause to enable it. We are considering legal action for the use of our player image in this context.”
With only a few days left before the vote, Real Madrid supporters are struggling to distinguish genuine plans from campaign communication. One thing is certain: the race for the club’s presidency has already become highly controversial.
