The club briefly considered the Neymar option but wants to move in another direction: strengthening a fragile defense and finding a toplevel striker to accompany Messi in 2026.
Mascherano, the future coach, now wants players more than Messi’s friends — even though he himself is a friend of La Pulga.
No MSN in MLS
By closing the door, Inter Miami sends a clear message: the magic of Barça’s MSN era won’t be returning in MLS. Messi will continue his adventure with a team under reconstruction, while Neymar will have to find playing time elsewhere if he wants to save the final stretch of his international career. The paths of the two former partners will not cross again… for now. And this may have been the last opportunity. The Brazilian international, out of contract next December, has kept his future unclear.
