Cristian Romero is here to stay. Despite summer interest from Atlético Madrid, the Argentine centre-back (27) has officially extended his contract with Tottenham until June 2029.
The former Atalanta defender, who has already played one Premier League match this season, has been a key figure for the Spurs since his arrival and is now firmly tied to the club’s long-term project.
As a reminder, Romero was also recently named Tottenham’s new captain, confirming his central role in Ange Postecoglou’s plans.
The Spurs have locked down one of their leaders on and off the pitch for the years ahead.
We are delighted to announce that Cristian Romero has signed a new, long-term contract with the Club ✍️
