The summer clear-out was not enough in Marseille. Despite an already eventful transfer window, Olympique de Marseille is preparing to go again this winter. According to L’Équipe, four players who were already asked to leave the club a few months ago are still firmly on the departure list.
The major overhaul continues at OM, with no fewer than four unwanted players once again being shown the door in the coming days. Targeted by the Marseille staff are Ruben Blanco, Pol Lirola, Ulisses Garcia, and Neal Maupay. All remained despite very clear signals, but their situation has never changed. Rarely used and sometimes barely even called up, they no longer feature in Marseille’s plans.
Marseille Targets a Winter Clear-Out
Ruben Blanco, the third-choice goalkeeper, has never managed to secure a lasting place. Pol Lirola and Ulisses Garcia, expected to provide solutions on the flanks, failed to convince and have piled up forgettable appearances.
As for Neal Maupay, his spell at OM looks like a misunderstanding, with just one Ligue 1 appearance this season. The message is crystal clear: Marseille want to turn the page. The club’s leaders hope to find buyers as early as January to slim down the squad and reduce the wage bill. Interested clubs are on notice… Marseille are ready to negotiate.
