A bombshell is starting to circulate behind the scenes: Jürgen Klopp is reportedly already preparing his big return… and he would have an XXL target in mind for Real Madrid: Erling Haaland. Officially, Álvaro Arbeloa is still the man chosen to stabilize and relaunch the White House after Xabi Alonso’s departure. The first signs were positive, but since then things have quickly soured. In Madrid, however, they never settle for the short term, and internally the club is already thinking about what comes next, with the most spectacular scenarios on the table.
For more than ten years, Jürgen Klopp’s name has regularly resurfaced whenever Real goes through a turbulent period. The German has always cooled Madrid’s interest, repeating that he was happy where he was, now within the Red Bull group’s organization. Just a few months ago, he said he was “at peace” and did not want to be “anywhere else,” while adding, as he often does, a mysterious “you never know.”
Klopp’s Madrid Plan Takes Shape
But according to El Nacional, the situation may have changed. Klopp is now said to be the leading candidate to take charge of Real Madrid from the 2026–2027 season. In the meantime, if Arbeloa were not to be a long-term solution, a completely wild interim scenario is being considered: seeing Toni Kroos handle the transition on the bench.
Even more striking, Klopp is reportedly already working on his future Madrid project. According to the same source, the former Liverpool manager has contacted Erling Haaland to test the waters for a move to Madrid. The Norwegian, whom Klopp dreamed of coaching during his Dortmund and Liverpool days, would be the cornerstone of his galactic project, with the idea of a Haaland–Mbappé duo already making some in Madrid dream, even if for now it remains pure projection.
