With his contract at Lille set to expire next June, Olivier Giroud has not yet decided what the next step in his career will be. The French striker is keeping uncertainty alive as discussions with the club are expected to begin soon.

Author of five goals in Ligue 1 this season, Olivier Giroud continues to bring his experience to Lille. The 39-year-old center-forward, who joined last summer, will however see his contract come to an end at the close of the season. After Lille’s 2–1 victory away at Rennes, the French scorer spoke about his future.

The French striker also emphasized that several factors will weigh into any final decision. “All the conditions must be right, everyone must be confident, and the club must have needs,” he added. It now remains to be seen what position Lille will take regarding the future of their veteran forward.
