Despite the home defeat against Atlético (0-2), FC Barcelona refuses to give up. Ronald Araujo remains convinced that a comeback is still possible ahead of the return leg in Madrid.
A Barcelona side that still believes… Beaten at Camp Nou, FC Barcelona now finds itself with its back against the wall before facing Atlético Madrid on their home turf in the Champions League. A difficult mission, but far from impossible according to the Catalans.
Belief in a Possible Turnaround
“Sad about this defeat, but convinced that we can turn the situation around. This team has what it takes, and I truly believe it,” said the Uruguayan defender, emphasizing his team’s ability to achieve a remarkable comeback, recalling that Barça has already overturned unfavorable situations in the past.
Despite the scoreline, Barcelona showed character, especially in the second half. Reduced to ten men, the Blaugranas dominated proceedings, proving they could trouble Atlético. “It’s true that it will be difficult at their place, but if there’s one team capable of doing it, it’s us,” Araujo added.
The same sentiment was shared by Jules Koundé: “We will give everything in the second leg. We will do everything to turn things around and overturn the result, and I know we are capable of it,” said the French right-back. Driven by its talent and personality, the Catalan club still believes in a dramatic turnaround, with a clear objective: defeat Atlético and continue their European journey.
