According to Marca, tensions are far from easing inside the Real Madrid dressing room. After an initial altercation between Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni the previous day, the atmosphere within the Madrid squad reportedly worsened even further in recent hours.
The situation at Real Madrid continues to spiral. Marca reports that a new incident involving the two midfielders erupted after training. The confrontation allegedly escalated quickly, forcing several members of the squad to intervene and separate the players. Federico Valverde was then taken to the hospital after suffering a serious bruise along with a cut. However, the Uruguayan international has reportedly already returned home.
Growing Tensions Inside the Real Madrid Squad
Internal sources cited by Marca even described the altercation as “the most serious incident ever experienced at Valdebebas,” highlighting the extremely tense atmosphere currently surrounding the club. The Spanish outlet also claims the hostility began earlier in the morning, when Valverde allegedly refused to shake Tchouaméni’s hand before training, with the tension continuing until the final explosion inside the dressing room.
Faced with the seriousness of the situation, Real Madrid executives reportedly organized an emergency meeting immediately after the incident, including the involvement of José Ángel Sánchez. Marca also states that disciplinary proceedings may have been opened against both players. With only a few weeks remaining in the season, the club is said to be deeply concerned by the growing nervousness, internal divisions, and mounting pressure within the squad.
Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappé is edging closer to a return for Real Madrid. Sidelined with a thigh injury suffered against Real Betis on April 24, the French striker resumed part of collective training on Thursday, according to Marca. Although he is not expected to start in Sunday’s Clasico against FC Barcelona, the former Paris Saint-Germain star should still be included in the squad. His return could prove crucial for Real Madrid, who must secure a victory to remain in the La Liga title race.
