Paris Saint-Germain are almost there. Thanks to a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Brest at the Parc des Princes, sealed by a late winner from Désiré Doué, the Parisian club have nearly secured another French league title.
With only two matches remaining, PSG now hold a six-point lead over second-placed Lens, while also owning a hugely superior goal difference. In other words, the suspense is almost over in the Ligue 1 title race.
PSG One Step Away From The Title
PSG could even be officially crowned champions as early as Wednesday night. The scenario is very simple for Luis Enrique’s side.
The Parisian players will become Ligue 1 champions if they avoid defeat away to Lens. A draw would therefore be enough to mathematically secure another league trophy for the capital club.
After their historic qualification for the Champions League final against Arsenal, PSG could quickly wrap up the French title before turning their full attention to the huge showdown in Budapest on May 30.
