On the cover of Vanity Fair this Tuesday, Kylian Mbappé spoke about the next World Cup and his role as a leader with France. But in a rather curious way.
Kylian Mbappé wants it. The France captain is determined to move on from the final lost to Argentina in 2022 and is clearly showing his ambition: to bring home a third star.
Mbappé Targets World Cup Glory
“There is nothing more beautiful than representing your country,” explained the Real Madrid forward, before adding: “Everyone expects miracles from us. But miracles happen on the pitch.”
The Bondy native mainly wants to turn the failure of the 2022 World Cup into motivation. “You have to take that disappointment and transform it to try to change the course of history,” he insisted, with the clear objective of reaching another final.
But Mbappé also surprised with a very blunt comment about the French: “The French love to complain. The French love to be unhappy.” Before admitting with humor: “I’m like that too!” One thing is certain: if Mbappé shines at the World Cup and delivers the trophy to Les Bleus, the criticism could quickly disappear…
