After ten years of domination under Pep Guardiola, Manchester City are preparing for a completely chaotic summer. Behind the scenes, the club is seriously considering the departure of the Spanish manager at the end of the season, with Enzo Maresca already emerging as the favorite to replace him.

With or without Guardiola, City are planning a major squad revolution. According to The Telegraph, several historic figures are expected to leave, starting with Bernardo Silva, who is reportedly heading for the exit after nine seasons, and John Stones, who could also depart after a decade filled with trophies. Jack Grealish, Kalvin Phillips, Nathan Aké, Savinho and Mateo Kovačić could also be pushed out.

Even Rodri is no longer considered completely untouchable. Despite receiving a contract extension offer, the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner is attracting strong interest from Real Madrid. The departure of the Spanish midfielder would be a massive shock for City, especially with Bernardo Silva already expected to leave.

Amid this huge overhaul, a few stars are still viewed as untouchable. Erling Haaland remains the centerpiece of the project after scoring 50 goals this season, alongside Phil Foden, Jérémy Doku, Rayan Cherki and Gianluigi Donnarumma, who was signed to replace Ederson.

City also want to rebuild their midfield and are already targeting Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest. After spending more than £425 million over the last 18 months, the rebuilding project at the Etihad is far from over.
