José Mourinho is already preparing his revolution at Real Madrid… and Paris Saint-Germain are starting to get seriously worried. After the rumors surrounding Nuno Mendes and Vitinha, a third Parisian player is now reportedly on the Special One’s radar: Illia Zabarnyi.
José Mourinho is expected to arrive in Madrid to rebuild a struggling Real side after a disastrous season. In Spain, excitement is already growing around this major reconstruction project. According to several reports circulating in recent hours, Mourinho wants to significantly strengthen the Portuguese-speaking core inside the Madrid dressing room. Naturally, PSG’s Portuguese stars have immediately attracted attention.

The Nuno Mendes situation remains the one causing the most concern in Paris. The presence of his agent Miguel Pinho in Madrid triggered a huge wave of speculation. Even though the Portuguese full-back recently extended his contract with PSG until 2030, Real Madrid are actively searching for a successor to Ferland Mendy. Mendes’ ultra-offensive profile is reportedly highly appreciated by the Spanish giants.
Mourinho is also said to be targeting Vitinha and Zabarnyi. Regarding Vitinha, the trend is very clear: the PSG midfielder is viewed as one of the few players capable of rebuilding Madrid’s midfield following the gradual departures of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Casemiro. Spanish journalist Tomás Roncero even claimed that only Rodri and Vitinha currently possess the level required to control Real Madrid’s midfield.
But the biggest surprise concerns Illia Zabarnyi. According to journalist Achille Ash, Mourinho has directly requested information about the Ukrainian defender. Signed from AFC Bournemouth for around €65 million, Zabarnyi has not yet fully exploded in Paris, but Luis Enrique reportedly believes strongly in him and currently refuses any idea of a departure. However, this information should still be treated cautiously, as no other major source has confirmed it yet. In other words, Mourinho would love to take Nuno Mendes, Vitinha and Zabarnyi away from PSG this summer. The big question now is whether the Parisian club would agree to open the door for Real Madrid… especially with tensions around Kylian Mbappé still very much alive inside the club.
