The French national team will face an unusual situation against Norway. Didier Deschamps will not be on the bench for the match and will only rejoin the squad on Saturday in Boston after the game.
Deschamps is currently in France to attend his mother’s funeral, but he has remained involved in the team’s preparations. Before leaving, the France manager approved the tactical approach and the starting lineup alongside his long-time assistant, Guy Stéphan.

This is not the first time Stéphan has stepped in. In 2022, he already led France during a match against Denmark, applying the plans prepared with Deschamps without altering the team’s organization or playing philosophy. Deschamps is expected to resume his duties upon his return to Boston, while France continues under Stéphan’s experienced guidance for this fixture.
