Olympique de Marseille has opened a new chapter in its history. Ten years after the start of its naming partnership with Orange, the French club officially announced on Thursday a new stadium naming agreement with Caisse d’Épargne CEPAC. The iconic Stade Vélodrome will now be known as the CEPAC Vélodrome.
Goodbye Orange Vélodrome, hello CEPAC Vélodrome. A long-standing partner of OM since 1986, Caisse d’Épargne CEPAC has strengthened its commitment to the club. The partnership had already expanded in 2022 through its support of Marseille’s women’s team, and the two parties have now signed a seven-year agreement.
New Era Begins at the CEPAC Vélodrome
According to RMC Sport, the exact financial details of the deal have not been disclosed. However, the agreement is reportedly worth slightly more than the previous naming contract with Orange, which was estimated at around €2.5 million per season. Negotiations between OM and the regional bank had been ongoing for several months, focusing on a project combining international growth with strong local roots.
The stadium’s new identity will also be reflected on its exterior. According to RMC Sport, renovation work will begin after Bad Bunny’s concert on July 1. From the following day, the production and installation of the new black lettering and CEPAC’s red logo will get underway. The goal is to have the CEPAC Vélodrome fully ready before the start of the new Ligue 1 season, when Marseille host Strasbourg on the opening weekend of August 22.
