PSG are set to lose another young player from their academy. According to L’Équipe, Emmanuel Mbemba is very close to joining AS Monaco. The Principality club is therefore expected to land a talent developed in Paris.
His departure had been taking shape for several weeks. Emmanuel Mbemba had refused to sign his first professional contract with PSG, despite the Parisian club’s desire to keep him. That decision clearly opened the door to an exit.
Monaco Move Ahead in the Mbemba Race
The young player had no shortage of suitors. Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen and Paris FC were also monitoring his situation. But Monaco now appear to have taken the lead in this deal.
For PSG, this is another loss from their pool of young talents. After trying to keep him, Paris are now expected to see Emmanuel Mbemba continue his development elsewhere in Ligue 1.
Barring a late twist, Mbemba will therefore leave the capital to join Monaco. A smart move for ASM, and another frustrating departure for PSG.
