Griezmann to OM this winter — the rumor is spreading fast, and Marseille is already buzzing. After a turbulent summer, the club is reportedly dreaming of a true franchise player, someone capable of lifting the entire team and propelling the project into another dimension.
Romain Haering, journalist for Le Phocéen and usually well-informed on OM, believes the club should shoot for something big.
“We need an experienced player in his thirties who can play as a No. 10… Someone like Samardzic. A player who fits that profile,” he explained on L’OM au café, before dropping the name everyone was waiting for: Griezmann.
“A player like Griezmann is exactly what we need”
Haering didn’t hesitate: “A player like Griezmann is exactly what we need. I don’t really believe in it anymore, but with the timing, the situation at Atlético where he’s playing less… If OM can seduce him and his entourage, why not? A one-and-a-half-year deal and then MLS?”
A wild scenario — but not completely impossible. Griezmann, who has always admitted his affection for Marseille and the Vélodrome atmosphere, is no longer untouchable at Atlético. And in football, especially in winter, crazy moves sometimes become reality.
One thing is certain: the idea alone is enough to electrify Marseille. If OM pull this off, the January bombshell could be bleu-blanc-rouge.
