They need to recoup the one and a half billion euros from the project. As a result, this Monday, Barça put more than 16,000 tickets reserved for members on sale, and the prices have shocked all of Catalonia.
Members, who already pay €219 per year, discovered prices deemed… “not affordable” by the Spanish press (understatement). The minimum price is €199, with prices increasing progressively. The club also offers its “VIP Premium” seats. No need to be a member; just have a solid bank account: €850 for the front row behind the goals, €1,050 for areas near the benches, and €1,500 for the presidential box.
The renovation of the stadium is not yet complete, but the prices seem fully operational already.
45,000 seats available… and an urgent need for money
Barça has received the green light from the city hall to host 45,000 spectators, but not yet from UEFA for Champions League matches — a stadium change mid-season is required.
