The cases of Ousmane Dembélé and Bradley Barcola are becoming two of the major contractual topics at PSG… and they are now closely linked.
Regarding Dembélé, his future in Paris is far from secure. Discussions about a contract extension are not progressing as expected, and behind the scenes, the option of a departure to Saudi Arabia is increasingly being mentioned. Saudi clubs, very aggressive financially, would be able to offer him a huge contract that PSG does not wish — or cannot — match.
The Parisian club remains firm on its new line of conduct: there is no question of returning to a policy of exorbitant salaries. Internally, the message is clear: “We are not going to go back to absolutely out-of-context salaries that would jeopardize the club’s economic balance.”
This budgetary rigor could, however, come at a price. If Dembélé finds the Parisian offer insufficient, the temptation of the Gulf could become very serious. For now, nothing is finalized, but the case is open.
Barcola had an agreement but…
Meanwhile, Bradley Barcola (23 years old) is also at the heart of discussions. According to L’Équipe, a financial agreement had been outlined in the spring, but no signature came to validate it before the player changed agents and the context evolved, particularly after the Champions League victory. The club assures that the foundations were laid, but since then, the situation has taken on another dimension.
Importantly, Barcola and Dembélé now share the same agent, which directly links the two cases. “The club assures that a financial agreement had been drafted in the spring, but nothing had been signed. Since then, the player has changed agents and the landscape has evolved,” L’Équipe reminds us.
As a result, PSG finds itself with two key wingers, two sensitive cases, and the same negotiation table. The two extensions are far from being finalized, and a question is beginning to emerge: can the club afford to lose one — or both — by next summer? One thing is certain, the coming months promise to be decisive.
