Paris Saint-Germain is clearing up its transfer shortlist. Within just a few days, the club’s executives have closed the door on two players who had been heavily linked with a move to the Parc des Princes: Aleksey Batrakov and Eli Junior Kroupi.
Batrakov had reportedly believed his transfer was almost completed. People close to the young Russian attacking midfielder recently suggested there was a 95% chance he would join Paris this summer. However, after a thorough evaluation of his profile, Luis Campos and the recruitment team decided to abandon the deal entirely. The player’s camp was also said to have made significant financial demands, while growing interest from Premier League clubs further complicated negotiations.
PSG Refuses to Overpay
But Batrakov is not the only transfer target PSG has walked away from. According to several reports, the French champions have also decided against pursuing Eli Junior Kroupi. The Bournemouth striker, who scored 13 Premier League goals this season, had been identified as one of the promising young talents monitored by the European champions.
The reason is straightforward: Bournemouth is reportedly demanding at least €100 million to part ways with its 19-year-old star prospect. PSG’s hierarchy considers that valuation far too high and quickly ended discussions. Despite the possibility of departures involving Bradley Barcola, Gonçalo Ramos, Kang-In Lee, or Ibrahim Mbaye, the club has no intention of following the market’s inflationary trend.
Instead, Paris is focusing on alternative targets. Behind the scenes, two names continue to gain momentum: Yan Diomandé and, above all, Maghnes Akliouche, who is viewed as one of PSG’s top priorities this summer. One thing is certain: Luis Campos is determined not to make mistakes. By turning down both Batrakov and Kroupi, PSG has sent a clear message that even the most talked-about transfer stories will not move forward without the club’s full approval.
