After a few eventful days, Jérémy Doku finally has a reason to smile again. The Belgium winger temporarily left the Red Devils’ training camp on Sunday to attend the birth of his first child in London.

Doku is now a father. The Belgian Football Federation confirmed on Monday that everything went perfectly. In an official statement, team doctor Brahim Hacene announced that the mother, father, and baby are all doing very well.

Doku Returns Ahead of Key World Cup Clash

Despite receiving medical treatment in recent days, the Manchester City player was authorized to travel and was accompanied by doctor Brecht De Coninck. It was an important family moment before a swift return to competitive action.

Doku is expected to rejoin the Belgian squad on Tuesday evening in Seattle. This comes as excellent news for the Red Devils, who will fight for qualification to the next stage of the World Cup in a decisive match against New Zealand on the night of Friday to Saturday.
