It had become one of the biggest international selection sagas in recent months. After a long period of hesitation between France and Morocco, Ayyoub Bouaddi has finally made his decision.
Ayyoub Bouaddi will no longer play for the French national team. According to RMC Sport, the young LOSC midfielder has decided to represent the Atlas Lions on the international stage. His decision could even be officially announced within the next few hours.
Morocco Wins the Battle for Bouaddi
Morocco had been working on this case for a long time. In recent months, Bouaddi reportedly held several discussions with Mohamed Ouahbi as well as Moroccan Football Federation president Fouzi Lekjaa, who was heavily involved in the project.
The Moroccan sporting project ultimately made the difference. Between the modern infrastructure, the huge ambitions displayed in recent years, and the current momentum of the Atlas Lions, the Lille player was fully convinced despite his history with France’s youth teams. His absence from Didier Deschamps’ latest squad may also have influenced his choice.
