A rumor from England briefly ignited the Parisian news. The Daily Express mentioned a possible departure of Luis Enrique at the end of the season, with Manchester United lurking. The problem: the information is simply false.
No seismic changes are expected at PSG. According to sources close to the club, the Spanish coach has never considered leaving Paris. Even better, he is not even at the end of his contract as he recently extended it until 2027.
Luis Enrique feels good in Paris and remains fully invested in his project. In a press conference, he cut short the speculation, denouncing “fake news” aimed at disrupting the group. He reminded that contractual discussions are private matters and there is nothing new to report.
The Spanish coach also expanded his outburst to other recent rumors, targeting several players, such as Ousmane Dembélé, Fabian Ruiz, and Bradley Barcola, which he deems equally unfounded and harmful to the serenity of his group.
Regarding the Dembélé and Barcola rumors
“These are rumors, all the time around PSG. We are used to it, it’s private and it will remain so. There is a lot of fake news. It’s important to destabilize the players and the team, but none of that is going to happen. It’s normal to have negotiations, but it remains private; we know what we want, and that’s the most important thing. In that sense, we are calm and relaxed. Normally, you have to manage problems on the pitch, but right now we are being destabilized from the outside with fake news. But it has nothing to do with our team.”
He also acknowledges a media climate that he considers hostile, believing that some rumors primarily seek to destabilize the team off the pitch. According to him, PSG is accustomed to this kind of background noise, but it will not change the club’s trajectory or his personal commitment.
Conclusion: no departures on the horizon. PSG continues with Luis Enrique on the bench. As for the idea of a very long-term contract, the coach preferred to remain vague, simply reminding that his position has not changed.
