According to La Provence, a clash broke out in training between Geoffrey Kondogbia and Arthur Vermeeren, who are competing for a spot in midfield. Their challenges were reportedly very intense and the situation is said to have spiraled, reflecting a locker room under heavy pressure after a disastrous week marked by a heavy European defeat, Champions League elimination, and another poorly managed end to a match.

At the same time, Roberto De Zerbi is reported to have strongly reprimanded Amir Murillo, who has been blamed for several defensive mistakes. The player was sent to the reserve squad and is being pushed toward an exit before the end of the transfer window, with a clear message directed at any dissatisfied members of the squad.
