Rising figure in the transfer market, Moussa Sissoko is challenging his status in France and has taken his case to the European Court of Human Rights in an effort to change existing regulations.
Highly active behind the scenes, Moussa Sissoko has established himself as one of the most influential advisors around Paris Saint-Germain. Close to several French internationals such as Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué, and Bradley Barcola, he plays a key role in managing their careers. However, in France, he holds no official status that allows him to operate and be paid for this activity.
A Legal Battle Over Agent Regulations in France
The issue stems from the strict regulations imposed by the French Football Federation, which require individuals to hold a license to work as an agent. A condition that Sissoko does not meet, unlike in other European countries where he is free to operate.
Considering this situation unfair, he has decided to bring the case before the European Court of Human Rights. The process, initiated in 2021, could ultimately reshape the French system and redefine the role of advisors in professional football.
