Two years after the home invasion suffered by Gianluigi Donnarumma in Paris, the case has taken a tragic turn. One of the alleged perpetrators died by suicide in Fresnes prison in May 2024, Le Parisien reports.
On the night of July 20 to 21, 2023, former PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and his wife were tied up, threatened, and robbed, with the loot estimated at nearly one million euros.
Threats, violence, and the ongoing investigation
One of the suspects, aged 21, was said to have acted as the driver and lookout and claimed he had been recruited under pressure by a criminal network.
The investigation mentions threats, violence, and even unlawful confinement after the burglary. At the end of November, two alleged masterminds, nicknamed “Ganito” and “Kiki,” were charged and placed in pretrial detention, while the investigation continues.
