PSG. Hakimi leaves the pitch in tears after horrific injury

A nightmare night for PSG: after Dembélé, Achraf Hakimi also left the pitch in tears following a brutal tackle from Luis Diaz. The Moroccan full-back is now a major doubt for the upcoming AFCON.

Just minutes after Dembélé’s injury, the Parc des Princes fell silent as Hakimi collapsed, clutching his ankle after being taken out from behind by Diaz. The Colombian winger was initially shown a yellow card, but VAR intervened and upgraded the sanction to a straight red. Hakimi, unable to walk, was immediately helped off by the medical staff.

Five weeks out?

Senny Mayulu came on to replace him before halftime, completing what felt like a cursed evening for Paris.

Tensions also rose in the Bayern camp, as Diaz’s dismissal sparked anger and heated exchanges in the tunnel at halftime, according to Canal+ footage. After the match, Hakimi was seen leaving the stadium wearing a protective boot and walking on crutches — an image no PSG or Moroccan fan wanted to see.

For both PSG and the Moroccan national team, the concern is real: Hakimi could be sidelined for several weeks and now faces a race against time to be fit for the Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled in Morocco from December 21 to January 18. A worrying situation for club and country alike.
