Achraf Hakimi’s return is becoming increasingly likely at the perfect moment for Paris Saint-Germain. Just days before the Champions League final against Arsenal, the trend is now very clear: the Moroccan defender is expected to reclaim his place in the starting lineup.
According to L’Équipe, Hakimi is set to resume full team training this week, a little more than three weeks after his injury. Unless there is a last-minute setback, Luis Enrique fully intends to have his vice-captain available for the biggest match of the season.
Hakimi Ready for the Champions League Final
It is massive news for PSG. Despite Warren Zaïre-Emery’s excellent performances on the right side of the defense, Hakimi remains one of the most irreplaceable players in the Parisian system. His speed, attacking impact, and experience in major matches have been sorely missed in recent weeks.
Seen on Sunday at the Jean-Bouin stadium during the derby against Paris FC, the Moroccan defender appeared relaxed, smiling, and above all completely free of physical discomfort. A very positive sign for the PSG staff just days before the European showdown.
Luis Enrique could therefore recover his first-choice right flank with Hakimi back in defense and Fabian Ruiz returning in midfield. It would give PSG something very close to its strongest possible lineup to face Arsenal in a final that could become one of the biggest moments in the club’s history. Even though Warren Zaïre-Emery has enjoyed an exceptional season, Hakimi’s return seems to have completely reshuffled the cards. Inside the club, everyone knows that a fully fit Achraf Hakimi changes the entire face of this team.
