Neymar’s return to the World Cup is far more than just a simple call-up. According to Globo, everything changed during a decisive video call last Thursday between Carlo Ancelotti, Rodrigo Caetano and the Santos star. A direct conversation that reportedly completely revived the Brazilian’s chances.

Neymar will indeed be there. After months of doubts and questions, Carlo Ancelotti finally gave in and will take the idol of an entire nation to the World Cup.

Ancelotti also presented the new internal rules within the Seleção, including recommendations regarding his behavior and exposure on social media.

But Neymar’s reaction seemingly made all the difference. Smiling and very receptive during the discussion, the number 10 reportedly assured the staff that he was ready to accept this new role and do everything possible to help the squad during the 2026 World Cup. An attitude that convinced Ancelotti to trust him despite his recent injuries.

The Brazilian federation then monitored his physical condition after his calf pain with Santos against Coritiba. Reassured by the medical examinations, the Brazilian staff finally approved his inclusion in the final squad ahead of João Pedro. After the official announcement, Neymar immediately sent a thank-you message to Ancelotti with several green and yellow hearts. The dialogue between the two men, almost nonexistent for months, is now fully back on track just weeks before the start of the World Cup.
