Good news for Real Madrid as the Clasico approaches. Absent against Atlético Madrid in the Super Cup semi-final due to a knee injury, Kylian Mbappé will indeed be available for the final against FC Barcelona, scheduled for Sunday.
The French forward, enjoying an exceptional season with 29 goals in 24 matches in all competitions, had not been included in the squad for the 2–1 win over Atlético. But his condition has clearly improved in recent days, enough to allow his return to the rotation.
Mbappé, Real Madrid’s Prolific Scorer
In a press conference, Xabi Alonso confirmed the good news. “Mbappé will travel on Friday. He is much better, he trained and felt good. He has the same chances of playing as all the other players in the squad,” the Madrid coach assured.
A potentially decisive return for Los Blancos, who will meet their great rival in a always highly anticipated Clasico, even more so in a final. Whether he starts the match or comes on during the game remains to be seen, but Mbappé’s mere presence inevitably changes the equation.
For Real Madrid, it is a major boost at the perfect moment, in a match where every detail can tip the trophy one way or the other.
