PSG. Marquinhos applauds OM Despite Loss !

Winners of the Trophée des Champions this Thursday, Paris Saint-Germain had to work hard to overcome Olympique de Marseille (2-2, 4-1 on penalties). Challenged and sometimes dominated, the Parisian club managed to pull through with mental strength and penalties. A painful victory that only strengthened Marquinhos’ respect for the evening’s opponent.

OM lost the match, but not the esteem of their opponents. Marquinhos, the Parisian captain, wanted to commend Marseille’s performance. “We must value our opponents; they believed until the end, but they didn’t succeed, unfortunately! We knew it would be difficult against a team that is growing more and more. For us, it’s very good to have teams that challenge us; it helps us grow and puts us in difficulty,” appreciated the Brazilian central defender in an interview with Ligue 1+.

PSG wants to win everything again

Beyond this trophy, Marquinhos also wanted to look ahead to the rest of a season that is entering its decisive phase. “Now is the time of the season when we need to perform, the decisive moment. Eliminations will come in the Coupe de France and the Champions League, and there will be points to be earned in the league,” he reminded, aware of the crucial deadlines ahead.
