Adrien Thomasson has not even officially signed for Rennes yet, but he is already winning everyone over inside the Breton dressing room. Out of contract at Lens, the 32-year-old midfielder is set to join Stade Rennais this summer… and Valentin Rongier is already fully convinced.

Asked about the arrival of his former Nantes teammate, the Rennes captain had huge praise for the Lens midfielder.

“He’s a guy who runs all the time, he never stops. Honestly, he’s the player who shocked me the most physically since I turned professional,” explained Rongier, clearly amazed by Thomasson’s athletic abilities.

The Rennes midfielder then highlighted the incredible endurance of his future teammate. “In every physical test, he always ended up alone at the top,” Rongier revealed before adding: “He finishes every match at around 13 kilometers.”

For the former Marseille player, Thomasson’s arrival would be excellent news for Rennes: “He’s a machine and it would only be a pleasure if he joins us.” With the intensity of modern football, Rongier even believes that a profile capable of sustaining such effort for 90 minutes will become a huge asset for Rennes’ midfield next season.
