Cristiano Ronaldo and Donald Trump, the new best friends? CR7 shocked many recently by declaring his admiration for the American president and wanting to “discuss peace in the world” with him. A wish that is set to become a reality.
According to journalist Jake Traylor, Trump is expected to welcome CR7 this Tuesday at the White House. A visit that coincides… with that of the Saudi crown prince on the same day. A timing that certainly raises questions.
Last June, a Portugal jersey signed by Ronaldo — addressed “To President Donald J. Trump. Playing for peace” — was already gifted to the American president. A first symbolic gesture… before the actual meeting? Cristiano Ronaldo at the White House. Trump, the Saudi prince, and CR7 under the same roof. We will not stop talking about this unlikely gathering.
“Trump is one of those who can change the world”
In a lengthy interview with Piers Morgan, the Portuguese star praised Donald Trump. “Trump is one of those who can change the world,” CR7 stated, assuring that his dream “is not to win the World Cup, but for the world to be at peace.”
“I want to meet Donald Trump: he is someone I appreciate, he can change things,” the Portuguese indicated. “All I want is peace as soon as possible. No one knows it, but we have something in common with Donald Trump. I would tell him if we ever meet. Something fascinating.”
