The NFL is officially preparing its grand arrival in Paris for the fall of 2026, but PSG supporters can calm down right away: the game will not be played at the Parc des Princes. According to RMC Sport, discussions are already well underway to bring a regular-season matchup to France, and the Stade de France is the overwhelming favorite to host the event.
Between October and November 2026, the French capital could experience its first true American-style Sunday spectacle. And while Paris had been trailing behind other European cities, momentum has finally shifted.
US league officials, the French Ministry of Sports, the French American Football Federation and the Stade de France have already sat down together. An official announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
Why not the Parc des Princes?
Simply put: it’s too small. The NFL wants massive — 80,000 seats, fireworks, giant stage production, and only the Stade de France fits the bill. The Parc’s 48,000-seat capacity doesn’t make the cut for a league that travels with Hollywood-level expectations.
France may be the NFL’s third-largest market in Europe behind the UK and Germany, but it fell behind while other countries moved faster. Meanwhile, the league expanded its footprint with six games across Europe in 2025, from Dublin to London, Berlin and even the Santiago Bernabéu.
Each venue delivered the same spectacle: huge show, roaring crowds, fans flying in from around the globe. A dream for French NFL-lovers… including Antoine Griezmann, who attended games in Berlin and Madrid and has pushed for years to bring the sport to Paris.
2026 might finally make that dream come true. And even if the game won’t be played at the Parc des Princes, Paris is set to become the NFL’s next European showcase.
