After Kingsley Coman’s departure, Bayern Munich are pushing to secure Christopher Nkunku, with discussions already underway with Chelsea.
This summer, the French international expressed his desire to leave Stamford Bridge, with the club setting an asking price of around €50 million according to The Athletic. Several big names showed interest — including Manchester United, Inter Milan, Liverpool, RB Leipzig, and Barcelona — but none moved decisively.
Bayern Munich have now stepped up their pursuit. While their recent €75 million signing of Luis Díaz suggested the door for Nkunku might be closed, Sky Germany reports that Bayern and Chelsea are in direct contact.
Talks are ongoing over a potential deal, though the two clubs have different approaches: Chelsea are pushing for a permanent transfer, while Bayern would prefer a loan.
Nkunku is reportedly keen on the move
No agreement has yet been reached, but Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl is leading the negotiations. Nkunku is reportedly keen on the move, having enjoyed his previous spell in Germany with Leipzig. For the 26-year-old, joining the Rekordmeister could offer the perfect fresh start after a challenging time in England.
