The Reds’ busy transfer window continues! Giovanni Leoni has officially signed with Liverpool.

The 18-year-old Italian centre-back has just 17 Serie A appearances to his name but has already convinced the Premier League giants. He joins from Parma in a €35m (£30m) deal and will wear the No.15 shirt at Anfield.

“I want to improve a lot with my new teammates in training and after on the pitch, in the Premier League and the Champions League,” said Leoni. “I’ll watch the game [against AFC Bournemouth at Anfield tonight] in the stadium, see the game and then after the game it’s a new journey.”

Liverpool have been one of the busiest clubs in the 2025 transfer window, strengthening across all areas of the pitch.

  • Jeremie Frimpong (£30m, Bayer Leverkusen) – versatile right-back/winger, seen as both Trent Alexander-Arnold’s long-term successor and Salah’s cover.
  • Giorgi Mamardashvili (£29m, Valencia) – deal agreed last year, now official.
  • Armin Pecsi (£1.5m, Puskas Akademia) – young Hungarian goalkeeper.
  • Florian Wirtz (£116m, Bayer Leverkusen) – marquee signing, a creative force for midfield/attack.
  • Milos Kerkez (£40m, Bournemouth) – highly rated left-back.
  • Freddie Woodman (Free, Preston) – experienced backup goalkeeper.
  • Hugo Ekitike (£79m, Eintracht Frankfurt) – major attacking reinforcement.

Liverpool are also exploring direct talks with Rodrygo (Real Madrid) and remain interested in Alexander Isak (Newcastle).

We have completed the signing of defender Giovanni Leoni from Parma, subject to international clearance and a successful work permit application ✍️😄
