Karim Adeyemi is trying to please his wife: the Dortmund player wants to join a bigger club, as his partner would like to live in a major capital city.
Arriving in Dortmund in 2022 with the ambition of becoming a Bundesliga star, Karim Adeyemi has not (yet) found the recipe for blockbuster success. Three and a half years later, the 23-year-old winger alternates between brilliant performances and long spells of anonymity. His tally this season: 6 goals in 21 matches, and plenty of questions.
A Desire to Move for Personal Reasons
But according to Bild, the issue would be neither tactical nor physical. It would be… geographical. Mrs. Adeyemi is reportedly keen to swap the Ruhr region for a major European capital. As a result, the player is said to have politely informed club executives of his desire to move on.
To speed up the process, Adeyemi has changed agents and wants to renegotiate his contract, which runs until 2027, in order to facilitate a departure.
In Dortmund, the club has been searching for consistency on the pitch… Adeyemi, for his part, is mainly looking for a better postal code.
