Chelsea could be preparing a surprise return. According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Blues are working on the possibility of bringing Cesare Casadei back to Stamford Bridge, a year and a half after his move to Torino.

Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea could make a surprise decision by buying back Cesare Casadei. The Italian midfielder left Chelsea in February 2025 to join Serie A, a move designed to finally give him regular playing time at the highest level. His spell at Torino has clearly paid off.

Chelsea still has control over Casadei’s future

Chelsea, however, are still keeping a very close eye on their former player. According to the same source, the London club still holds 27.5% of Casadei’s rights, despite his transfer to Torino. That situation would allow the Blues to maintain a degree of control over his future.

Discussions are reportedly already underway to explore a possible return to Stamford Bridge. As Chelsea continue to rebuild their squad this summer, Casadei could therefore become a concrete midfield option once again.
