Tensions are running high around Enzo Fernandez. The Chelsea FC midfielder has cast serious doubt over his future… by sending a barely concealed message to Real Madrid.
Fernandez has unsettled Chelsea with his comments about Madrid. Officially, there are no talks with the Spanish giants. But in reality, the Argentine is leaving every door open—quite the opposite of shutting them. “I really like Madrid, it reminds me of Buenos Aires… Where would I play? Wherever I want,” he said with a smile. Enough to fuel speculation, especially as Real Madrid are looking to strengthen their midfield this summer.
Controversial Remarks Spark Internal Backlash at Chelsea
This subtle nod has not gone unnoticed… especially internally. At Chelsea, his public comments have clearly not been well received.
The immediate consequence: punishment. Manager Liam Rosenior has decided to drop Fernandez for the next two matches, against Port Vale in the FA Cup and Manchester City in the Premier League.
“A line has been crossed,” the coach stated, pointing to a lack of respect for the club’s culture. A strong decision, although Rosenior was careful to defend the man behind the player.
Under contract until 2032, Fernandez remains officially a key figure for the Blues. But with this latest episode, his future looks more uncertain than ever… and Madrid is never far away.
