Cristiano Ronaldo’s future remains one of the hottest topics in football discussions. Beyond potential transfers this summer, the Portuguese superstar might play for a club participating in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup for a month.
FIFA’s Strategy for Star Power
The FIFA has made it clear that they want all the biggest stars at the Club World Cup this summer. The inclusion of Inter Miami has already sparked some tension with MLS clubs, as the league pushes for Lionel Messi’s presence. Now, the governing body is making efforts to secure Ronaldo’s participation as well.
Wydad Casablanca in Talks for Ronaldo
According to recent reports, Wydad Athletic Club from Morocco is among the clubs interested in securing Ronaldo for the tournament. Gianni Infantino, FIFA’s president, confirmed this possibility during an interview on IShowSpeed.
Ten Clubs Interested in Signing Ronaldo for a Month
Infantino revealed that several clubs are currently in negotiations with Ronaldo for a potential one-month contract during the competition. The clubs include top-tier teams like Al Hilal, Brazilian club Botafogo, and clubs from Mexico and Africa, including Pachuca, Rayados, Wydad Casablanca, and Al Ahly.
Although Ronaldo won’t officially be free until June 30, an agreement with one of these clubs could potentially allow him to participate in the World Cup starting June 15. This quick turnaround has sparked significant interest in the star’s availability for the competition.
