Reported as one of the players who could be sold to help finance FC Barcelona’s summer transfer plans, Jules Koundé has made his position crystal clear.
Koundé has shut the door on any potential departure. Speaking at a press conference with the French national team, the defender insisted that he has no intention of leaving Barcelona this summer despite ongoing speculation surrounding his future.
Koundé Committed to Barcelona
“I have a contract until 2030, and in my mind, it’s quite clear. Until further notice, I am an FC Barcelona player and I hope to remain there next season,” said the former Sevilla star.
His comments come at a time when several reports suggest Barcelona may need to sell key players in order to fund an ambitious transfer window. The Catalan club is reportedly hoping to raise enough money to pursue Argentine forward Julián Álvarez, whose transfer fee could exceed €150 million.
In that context, Koundé’s name has frequently been mentioned as a valuable asset on the market, particularly among Premier League clubs. Meanwhile, Barcelona are also monitoring Inter Milan full-back Denzel Dumfries, who is said to have a €25 million release clause becoming active in July. For now, however, Koundé has no intention of taking part in any transfer shuffle and has made it very clear that he wants to stay in Catalonia.
