The next few days could determine Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future at Paris Saint-Germain. The Italian goalkeeper’s contract situation is set to be discussed this week in Los Angeles, on the sidelines of the Club World Cup.
Following a solid display in PSG’s 4–0 win over Atlético Madrid, Donnarumma now faces a key moment in his Paris career. His agent, Enzo Raiola, is scheduled to meet club officials to negotiate a possible contract extension. The 25-year-old is currently tied to PSG until 2026.
Salary Gap at the Heart of the Issue
According to Nicolo Schira, Donnarumma’s camp is asking for a new deal worth €13 million per year, while PSG’s latest offer reportedly stands at €8 million + €2 million in bonuses. That leaves a significant gap. For context, Donnarumma currently earns between €10M and €12M gross annually, depending on the source (L’Équipe, Le Parisien).
Despite public displays of support for Donnarumma on its official channels, PSG is hesitating to commit to such a high salary. Talks are said to be tense, and a resolution is expected soon. If no agreement is reached, PSG could pivot quickly to Lille’s Lucas Chevalier as a replacement.
