It was expected and it is now official. Manchester City announced this Friday the signing of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth. Brilliant since the start of the season, the 26-year-old winger strengthens Pep Guardiola’s squad as part of the winter transfer window.
After an eye-catching first half of the Premier League season with 10 goals in 20 matches, the Ghana international convinced the Citizens to move. The deal is worth €73.7 million including bonuses. At the same time, Bournemouth negotiated a 10% sell-on clause on any future profit from a transfer.
A Major Step Amid Fierce Competition
Trained notably at Sunderland, Semenyo is taking a major step in his career by joining one of Europe’s most prestigious clubs. He has committed his long-term future to Manchester City by signing a contract that runs until June 2031.
