With Alexander Isak potentially on the move this summer, Newcastle United are stepping up their efforts to land a top-tier replacement — and they’ve made their move for one of Europe’s hottest young strikers.
Šeško is the Priority Target: According to The Athletic, Newcastle have submitted a new offer to RB Leipzig for Slovenian forward Benjamin Šeško (22). After an initial bid of €80 million was turned down, the Magpies came back strong on Monday evening with a proposal of €80 million plus €10 million in bonuses.
Šeško remains the top priority for Eddie Howe, who wants a dynamic No. 9 in case Isak departs — Liverpool have been strongly linked with the Swede.
No Exit Push from the Player (Yet)
While Newcastle’s bid could test Leipzig’s resolve, there’s still one major factor: Šeško has not asked to leave. The German club remains in a strong negotiating position and may refuse the offer if the player doesn’t push for the move.
Still, with this new proposal on the table, Newcastle have made their intentions clear — they want Šeško now, and they’re willing to spend big.
