Ousmane Dembélé’s future at PSG is increasingly becoming a topic of internal discussion. According to the 100% PSG La Tribune podcast on Ici Paris Île-de-France, talks over a contract extension are stalling, and no agreement has yet been reached between the club and the French winger.
The core of the problem lies in the structure of his future salary. Paris and the player cannot agree on the split between fixed pay and performance-related bonuses, and behind the scenes this disagreement is said to be completely blocking negotiations.
Contract talks at a standstill
Dembélé’s recent past weighs heavily in the balance. With injuries and incomplete seasons, PSG want to protect themselves and adjust their offer accordingly, while the French international is seeking a deal with a fixed and variable portion as close as possible to secure his income.
Without an extension, the door could open to a departure. Even though he is under contract until 2028, a transfer is no longer taboo internally, and if nothing is signed by next summer and the second half of the season does not change the picture, his future could well be written away from Paris.
