Behind-the-scenes surprise: Red Bull is barely involved in Paris FC’s transfer activity. And when it comes to Antoine Kombouaré, the Austrian group has also kept a low profile.
Despite its investment in the club’s capital, Red Bull remains a minority shareholder, and its influence over the first team is very limited.
Red Bull’s Limited Role in Sporting Decisions at Paris FC
Contrary to popular belief, Red Bull does not control sporting matters in Ligue 1. Its role is primarily focused on youth development and the club’s structural organization. According to L’Équipe, its contribution centers on technical support, data analysis, and performance optimization.
A coordinator regularly visits the club, and a nutritionist has recently stepped in, but exchanges with the coaching staff remain measured. The partnership also includes advice on infrastructure and the expansion of the training center.
As for recruitment, Red Bull was not the decision-maker behind the arrival of Antoine Kombouaré. Jürgen Klopp reportedly only made a few informal inquiries. This winter, the transfer window was managed internally by Marco Neppe, Antoine Arnault, and Jean-Marc Gallot. As with Leeds United, where the group is also a minority shareholder, its decision-making influence remains limited for now.
