Dro takes a PSG star’s number!

A new face at PSG, Dro Fernández has signed until 2030 and will wear the number 27 in his new colors. A far from trivial choice for the 18-year-old Spanish midfielder, it symbolizes a fresh start in Paris and a desire to build himself up gradually within the squad.

Why did Dro Fernández choose the number 27 at PSG? Quite simply because it was his number at Barça. Trained at FC Barcelona, where he shone in the youth ranks with a UEFA Youth League title and made his first-team debut, Dro arrives in the capital labeled as a major European prospect. Technical, creative, and already a youth international for Spain, he has 24 caps across youth categories.

Why the No. 27 Matters at PSG

With this number 27, often worn by players on the rise, Dro sends a clear message: he is not coming as a star, but to earn his place and write his own story at Paris Saint-Germain.

The number 27 is not neutral in the club’s recent history either. It was notably worn by Javier Pastore, the first big star of the QSI era and a symbol of PSG’s revival in the early 2010s, and also briefly by Idrissa Gueye.

A number associated with a symbolic player for PSG—perhaps the start of a new cycle? The club likes this kind of nod. Dro Fernández now hopes to leave his own mark at the Parc des Princes.
