Griezmann Refused to Be a TV Consultant at the World Cup

Antoine Griezmann will not serve as a pundit for the 2026 World Cup. Approached by M6 to join its team of commentators, the French forward declined the offer, choosing instead to focus on his already packed schedule ahead of his move to MLS.

Although he has retired from international duty, Antoine Griezmann remains a key figure in French football. After delivering a solid season with Atlético Madrid (25 matches, 6 goals in La Liga), the 2018 World Cup winner naturally attracted interest from broadcasters ahead of the upcoming tournament.

However, the 35-year-old striker ultimately turned it down. Those close to him cited scheduling constraints, particularly with his confirmed transfer to Orlando City in MLS at the end of the European season.

Despite this refusal, M6 and other broadcasters are expected to rely on a prestigious lineup. Benoît Cheyrou is already confirmed for M6, while Olivier Giroud, Raphaël Varane, and Hugo Lloris are among those tipped to join. Meanwhile, beIN Sports will count on established figures such as Daniel Bravo and Omar da Fonseca to cover the competition.
