Just a few months after being dismissed by Paris FC, Stéphane Gilli has quickly found a new job in Ligue 1. The 52-year-old coach was officially appointed as the new manager of Angers SCO on Tuesday.
As expected in recent days, the French tactician has signed a contract with the club for the next two seasons. He replaces Alexandre Dujeux, who recently left to take on a new challenge with FC Lorient.
Stéphane Gilli Takes Charge of Angers SCO
Despite being relieved of his duties by Paris FC in February, even after delivering positive results, Gilli has not had to wait long to return to the top level of French football. He now joins an ambitious project at Angers.
At Angers SCO, the former assistant coach of the France U21 national team will be tasked with continuing the club’s progress and securing a comfortable Ligue 1 status. It represents a strong comeback for a coach who is already back in the spotlight.
Angers SCO announced Gilli’s appointment through an official statement, confirming that he has committed his future to the club and will lead the Noir & Blanc into a new chapter as they aim to establish themselves firmly in the French top flight.
