Auxerre, Brest and Lorient have received excellent news ahead of the 2026-27 season. France’s football financial watchdog, the DNCG, has approved the accounts of all three clubs, giving them complete freedom to spend and invest during the upcoming campaign.
The decision was announced on Wednesday after the clubs successfully passed their financial reviews. AJ Auxerre, FC Lorient and Stade Brestois 29 were all cleared without receiving any sanctions or restrictions from the governing body.
DNCG Gives Full Approval for 2026-27 Season
As a result, the three Ligue 1 sides will face no recruitment limitations, no salary cap monitoring measures and no special financial conditions for the 2026-27 season. Their executives can now prepare for the summer transfer window with confidence.
The same positive outcome was recorded in Ligue 2, where AS Saint-Étienne, Dijon FCO and USL Dunkerque also obtained full approval from the DNCG. These clubs can now focus on strengthening their squads and planning for the new campaign.
The ruling comes as a significant relief for all six teams. Meanwhile, several other French clubs are still waiting for their hearings before the DNCG, a process that often creates anxiety as the transfer market approaches.
